
Suzanne Pleshette (January 31, 1937 from 1937 to January 19 January 19, 2008) was an American theatre, film television, voice actress. 1. Pleshette began her acting career in the theatre and started appearing in films in the late 1950s. Later, she appeared in films with a notable name such as Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (1963), and Spirited Away (2001). Later, she appeared in many television productions and was often a guest actor. She played Emily Hartley in The Bob Newhart Show, 1972-1978, in which she earned numerous Emmy Award nominations. Pleshette was born on January 31 1937, in the New York City neighborhood of Brooklyn Heights, to Geraldine (nee Kaplan)[1 and Eugene Pleshette. Her parents were Jewish immigrants from Russia and Austria-Hungary. Her mother was an artist, dancer and choreographer who performed under the stage name Geraldine Rivers. Her father was a stage director at both the Paramount Theater and Paramount Theater in Manhattan.
